continuing with willie wonka at the behest of kristina (http://lucaluca.tumblr.com) i give you violet beauregarde. in the book and both films, violet is depicted as fiercely competitive. this spirit is illustrated with her gum chewing titles and her friendly rivalry with fellow competitor, cornelia, ha. anyway, violet always seemed to be simple in contrast to her counterpart, veruca. that doesn’t mean she was exactly kind though. she doesn’t seem the type that would grow up to be a fashion plate so i’m sure her style would take the backseat to her competitions. however, simple doesn’t mean she couldn’t be chic.
