anonymous asked how to a guy should wear a beret and what i think of them. well, please consult the above image via the sartorialist for how to wear a beret. it’s a really tough piece to work and is inherently european so you’ve got to have a certain way about you. they’re usually more appropriate for colder temperatures too, you don’t want to stroll around in a heavy cap come spring. that being said, i am not a big beret fan. i’m more of a waspy, american classics type person and prefer straw in the spring and wool in the winter. so my advice: unless you’re hamish bowles or your strolling the banks of the seine, refrain.

i’m getting to the ones i can!
milamiasmic asked about how to wear a pair of gray chinos she just got. she’s used to wearing skirts or skinny pants so chinos are definitely a little out of her comfort zone. chinos are great for spring and summer, a nice alternative to shorts if you can’t wear them. i almost always roll them and often buy them in a waist size up to have some give. women can do the same thing, no problem. the birds in the shots above (all from the sartorialist) pull them off quite nicely. so take a page from them and keep it simple-roll em up and throw on a t and a blazer.
oh update: apparently she wore them…and she did damn good.
