It’s a rainy, kind of weird Saturday so I took to the interwebs and visited some of my old retail friends. As per usual, I floated over to Jack Spade who I’ve sorely neglected these past few weeks since I started the new job. Of course, now that I no longer enjoy an employee discount, it’s not so easy to grab a few things here and there. Nevertheless, look at this stuff…at long last Aaron Levine’s (formerly of Rogues Gallery) product has hit the store and if I weren’t moving in a week, I’d blow every last cent on it. Of course it should be noted that the leather goods and bags are the work of their talented bag designer, Britt Kleinman. She owns.
1. Icon Printed Banker’s Envelope, $250
2. Selima Menrad Sunglasses, $325
3. Pet Rock Bill Holder, $175
4. Industrial Canvas Dipped Coal Tote, $195
5. Border Stripe Sweater, $195
6. James Gingham Shirt, $165
Ahoy Textbook friends. I’m stoked to let the cat out of the bag (again, whoops I posted it for 3 minutes yesterday) about this Fashionista Jonie that starts today. I’ll be posting over there each week, but instead of doing characters from books and history, I’ll be doing fashion industry people. We chose Kate Lanphear, Senior Style Director of Elle to start because she’s fucking awesome. To see the looks, just head on over to Fashionista and drop a comment there or here for who you wanna see next. Of course you can always tweet to either of us (@johnjannuzzi and @fashionista_com)
And boom, Kate Lanphear is my 170th character post. Check them all out here in the index.
Hello my Tumblr friends! So we all know how things work here in the tumblraxy—there’s your inspiration blogs, your editorial scanners, your personal style girls and your regular “hey this is my blog” types. Also my favorite kind, the advisors.
Tumblr is such a good platform because the entire membership is a really engaged community thanks to the ask feature, the like button and the re-blog button. I don’t follow many tumblrs but I always love to find ones that offer advice, particularly style advice. So if you have style questions I encourage you to ask the crew below.
L.A.S. of How to Talk to Girls at Parties
I’ve been following this guy for a while. I found him through the Tumblr directory, in the number one spot. He’s got a loyal following and can give anybody style tips to bean boot. His tumblr is a supplement to his kickass menswear joint, Sartorially Inclined (http://sartoriallyinclined.blogspot.com) Follow him at http://howtotalktogirlsatparties.tumblr.com
Kat of That Kind of Woman
In addition to some killer posts and keeping us up to date on her gentleman, Kat throws out some solid tips. Found her through all the other man tumblrs. Worth your time at http://thatkindofwoman.tumblr.com
Nico of Nickel Cobalt
Nico is a gentleman’s tumblr let’s say. Lots of style stuff, lots of pretty girls and jazz. Like L.A.S., his tumblr is a supplement to his main blog, The Bengal Stripe (http://thebengalstripe.com) he’s always ready with some fashion advice at http://nickelcobalt.tumblr.com
There are plenty more out there, but these are just a few I wanted to share with you guys.
