    JOAN OF ARC

    Joan of Arc
Ahoy mateys! So, as Textbook is now almost a year and half old, I seem to be running out of ideas. Luckily, the seasons of fashion change giving me new ways to experiment. Having said that, I’d like to revisit Joan of Arc. Our heroine is responsible for bringing a nation together in a time of great crisis and unrest. As fate would have it, political turmoil and intrigue put Joan to a cruel fate and she was burned as a witch and heretic by the English. Of course, one wonders how exactly Joan would fair in this age? Would she have an epic twitter following? A life-casting blog? Or perhaps she’d be a commanding officer, either way you can’t deny her lasting impression on the world.

    1. Peasant Joan
Dress by Aquilano Rimondi, shoes by Peter Pilotto

    2. To battle! Raawwrr!
Dress by Rodarte, shoes by Alexander McQueen

    3. St. Joan

And as I said, I’ve been finding it very difficult to come up with new characters…I implore you to leave suggestions in my ask box and thank you kindly for all those already sent! You can also e-mail them to me. Enjoy your weekend, Tumblr!

    ELIZA, MY FAIR LADY

    Eliza Doolittle, My Fair Lady
Everybody knows the story of My Fair Lady. Two bored aristocrats happen upon a girl who might be a little down on her luck but because of the grit of the street they can’t see how pretty she is. They decide to take her under their wing as some kind of game or sport. A few scenes later they throw her in a nice dress and suddenly they fall in love because she’s beautiful. Rags to riches, blah blah blah. Maybe that was a little harsh, but that’s the basic story. Let’s watch Eliza’s transformation through the story, shall we?

    TINK, FIREFLY FROM HELL

    Tinkerbell
Everybody knows Tink, she’s the loveable, somewhat sarcastic and overall bitchy fairy from Peter Pan. Like most people unable to express themselves, Tink becomes wildly jealous when Peter starts paying Wendy attention. Shocking. Anyway, she also is the one who allows Peter and his cronies to fly with her magic pixie dust. There’s not much else to say because as I mentioned…everybody knows who Tink is. Enjoy.
    1. Wendy is so trampy
Dress by Alexander Mcqueen, shoes by Erdem

    2. Hanging out in Neverland
Dress by Band of Outsiders, socks and shoes by Meadham Kirchoff

    Aphrodite, Goddess of Love

So here we have Aphrodite. There’s not really much to say about her, very self explanatory. She’s the Olympian goddess of love, beauty and sexuality. Whenever you feel that little twang at your heart or…um, elsewhere…that’s her. Well, that is if you worship the Olympian gods and if you do that’s totally fine.
