Why, good rainy ass Thursday to you all.  Today, we’re gonna do things a little differently.  We’re gonna get serious…for a minute.  As you all know, cancer is a leading global concern and while strides have been made, there is much more ground to cover.  Effective treatment is hard to come by, especially for those who don’t have access to top level healthcare.  Enter Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony program which spreads care for the underserved. For the 10th anniversary of Ralph Lauren’s Pink Pony, they reached out to 100 voices of the internet (including yours truly) to help spread the word.  Please join myself, my 99 internet cohorts and Ralph Lauren in the fight against cancer.1. You can text PINKPONY to 501501 to donate $10.00 (msg and data rates appliz)2. You can visit their celebrity auction (100% of proceeds go to benefit the Pink Pony Fund3. as mentioned earlier, this is christina from christina’s world. i’ve always been a fan of this painting because it makes me want to run around in a big old field. my grandparents used to keep a farm upstate with lots of space similar to this, there were toboggans in the winter and plenty of field frolicking in the spring and summer. christina probably isn’t the type to care too much about what she wears, she just needs it to be simple for hanging around the farm. think pastoral, think ralph lauren easy breezy dressing…a country hipster if you will…
1: in the field: dress by ralph lauren, shoes by phillip lim2: why, i do declare: dress by michael van der ham, shoes by ralph lauren3: this is my world, be about it: dress by band of outsiders, shoes by alexander wang
thanks to anne from holier than now for the suggestion! do you have one? tell me.

a lot of people assume i’m the type to enjoy revenge. i’m not gonna comment on that, but i will tell you a love a good tale of revenge, such as the count of monte cristo. the short version is—edmond dantes is betrayed by his best friend count fernand mondego, spends some time in a crap prison, makes some friends, finds some treasure and hatches a revenge scheme to end all revenge schemes.  aside from sending edmond to prison, fernand also married his fiance mercedes.  mercedes loved edmond and married fernand to protect her unborn child and is swept up in a world of money and status.  naturally, part of edmond’s quest is to get back at mercedes for her running off with fernand but he eventually realizes he still loves her yada yada yada.  it’s quite the confusing little story, but it’s so damn good. readddd itt.
