you don’t get a more badass teacher than minerva mcgonagall. she’s always been one of my favorite harry potter characters…maybe because she reminds me of some of my middle school teachers. anyway, you can’t really get anything by her and she obviously played a huge role in harry’s life. the above looks might be a little bit of a stretch, perhaps they’re better suited to a younger mcgonnagall. either way, minerva is awesome. this is probably the last of the harry potter posts, unless you guys have any other suggestions.

mrs. dalloway is all about a party that clarissa dalloway is hurrying to prepare. it takes place in one day and follows her around london as she ties up some loose ends and thinks on her life choices, particularly her marriage. the story also follows septimus w. smith who suffers from post traumatic stress disorder after world war i. septimus seeks help for his troubles and when his attempts were dismissed, he is driven to suicide. his death becomes a topic of conversation at clarissa’s party between acquaintances and she quietly admires his actions. there’s a lot more to mrs. dalloway than meets the eye but i’ll let you figure the rest out. set in 1923 london, you can imagine the clothing was pretty amazing and that lovely style could easily carry on today. i highly recommend reading this one.

at last, the post photoshop ate this morning. napoleon was a pretty interesting guy. his image is hard to mistake thanks to portraits left behind. a few artists that always come to mind are delacroix, david and ingres. each portrait shows napoleon as all powerful and all conquering…with a little flair for the dramatic. of course, not everybody thinks of him like that, but i bet you that’s what he wanted. hence, some crazy power coats.
