it’s everybody’s favorite little rich girl, veruca salt. if you’re familiar with the book and the willie wonka films, then you know she is the epitome of spoiled brat. in fact, state of the art wonka equipment determines she is a “bad egg” and sends her down to the garbage after this (i recommend clicking if you’re not familiar) little rant. her father had a nasty habit of following every demand she made, so there’s no telling what a penchant for fashion would do. i’d imagine she’d just point, command and purchase…brat.1: i want a golden goose: dress by dolce and gabbana, tights and shoes by bottega veneta, bag by dolce and gabbana2: give it to me now!: dress by phillip lim 3.1, fur by derek lam, tights and shoes by dkny, bag by hermes (birkin, naturally)3: don’t care how, i want it now: dress by tory burch, shoes and socks by brian reyes, bag by louis vuitton

this is a re-style of my first queen victoria, which i decided i’d punch it up a bit. enjoy.when i think of queen victoria the word that comes to mind is dignified. perhaps it’s just because of the imagery i’ve seen of her, who could forget that statue where she’s enthroned and looking out into the distance? it’s a pretty powerful image and you can tell that she means business. my favorite of her accomplishments (along with her husband albert) was the crystal palace exhibition where the world showcased technology and culture. to me it seemed one of those pivotal moments in history where everybody realized the future is going to come barreling towards us and we’ll be charging right at it. of course she today would walk that fine line between dowdy and dignified (a feat not accomplished by some of her contemporaries).1: i mean business: coat (so klimt looking, eh?) by oscar de la renta, socks and shoes by karen walker2: kick ass queen: fur by marc jacobs, dress by vivienne westwood red label, shoes and tights by donna karan3: opening the crystal palace: coat by oscar de la renta, dress by 3.1 phillip lim, shoes by dvf

eloise was perhaps the luckiest child in the world, at least in my eyes.  according to her stories, she lived in the penthouse of the plaza hotel in new york.  i could think of worse living arrangements.  the books detailed her adventures with her turtle and her pug through the hotel and as you can imagine, the plaza can be a pretty exciting place for an inquisitive child.  had you known me in my childhood, you’d understand that next to my own house, the plaza was probably my next choice.  eloise’s clothing was pretty iconic, a black pinafore with a white ruffly shirt.  one has to wonder though, what would she be like when she grew older?  obviously a daughter of priveledge, her nature would certainly take her elsewhere in the city.  i imagine she would still have a very playful nature about her and manage that line of upper east side manner with youthful joie de vivre.  naturally, if that’s how you live you must dress the part.1: down fifth and back up madison: dress by luella, shoes by dennis basso, handbag by kate spade new york, hat by isaac mizrahi2: ditching the frick for the burger joint: faux fur by kate spade new york, dress by dennis basso, shoes by michael kors3: walking weenie in the backyard (central park): shorts by milly, shoes by 3.1 phillip lim, shirt by cynthia steffe, blazer by marc by marc jacobs, leash by mulberry, dog & dog sweater by mulberry
