christian lacroix homme a/w 2010
another one of those collections that screams my name. already have e-mails in place to secure some of these come fall. oh lacroix, it is a sad sad hand you’ve been dealt but i’m glad to see the men’s license is rolling the way gilded age or steven alan with a bit of french sensibility.
hermes a/w 2010
thoughts: yes for more color. hermes is another one of my favorite unattainable brands. i’ve seen coats in there for $15,000+ and have tried them on in hopes that somebody will just give them to me. anyway. weird. i’m always a big fan of what they put out and i’m so pleased to see a nice palette from them (spring was a little to brownish formy taste). i really love that zip up sweater with the navy trim, the scarf and db coat in #2 and even the suede jacket in #3. i’ll never buy any of this but it’s fun to imagine having some extreme luxury.
agnes b a/w 2010
thoughts: yes, color. there’s no reason why winter should be dreary. so happy to see some bright optimism on the runway in paris. the shirt and shoes in #1 are great and i might be willing try those jeans…i will pass on the vest thank you very much though. basically, i want all of look 2…i would only hesitate on the shoes and shirt but the styling is really on point. the jacket in 3 is amazing vermont sensibility, i always seem to fall back on my new england roots.
salvatore ferragamo a/w 2010
thoughts: let’s just say i im’ed my friend with these exact words, “it’s like ferragamo ripped out my soul, put it through a sewing machine and made clothes with it.” so i mean…i guess you could say i liked it. possibly the collection i’ve most identified with, ever. they showed a good range of deep colors and played with some winter whites. in relation to everybody else in milan i’m seeing more exaggerated collars, bomber jacket-esque qualities to outerwear and shearling. i’m so excited to get some of this, god willing i can be disciplined and save. my only quip is that the coat pictured in #2 up there is strikingly similar to a bottega from a/w 09 that i loved…what gives?
missoni a/w 10
thoughts: i’ve made no secret about my love for missoni as of late. they kill it every season. that coat in look 2 is gonna give a potential burberry purchase a run for the money despite the massive collar. of course my budget will probably only allow for one of those crazy awesome scarves. other than that, digging the fur use, trademark prints and patterns and of course the patchwork cardigans. need now.
