Good morning! The Burberry men’s show is live-streaming at 11:00, join me won’t you? Be advised, I’m not wearing pants…ah the beauty of live-stream.
HOLDEN CAULFIELD

Good Monday morning to you all. Holden Caulfield was the very first post I ever did on Textbook. Somewhere down the line it got added into my tag line and now it’s kind of a thing. I haven’t styled him since the original post on 9/1/09 so here we go again. For those of you who don’t have a solid idea of who Mr. Caulfield is, I encourage you to read The Catcher in the Rye and get wise. But for our purposes, just imagine he is a bitter Upper East Side 16 year old aching to get out of his poor little rich boy life. What up #WHITEBOYPROBLEMS.
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Don’t judge me if I post a bunch of pictures from my holiday later.

THESE ARE MY BOOTS

These are my boots. I wear them every single day when it’s chilly. They have holes in the soles, must get that fixed. They are Rachel Comey boots and she makes a damn good boot. See for yourself at her sweet ass website. Worth every penny…a re-sole and they’ll be good for years.
So the other day, I got an invitation via bloggie to go check out Kenneth Cole’s spring ‘11 joint. Hmmm…never really paid much attention to the man, but I do admire his whole story. He started by selling shoes out of a trailer as a production company, it’s a long story. A bunch of other bloggers and I went on uptown (read: midtown) to check it out and eat a fancy dinner.
The collection was inspired by the landscape of the desert, the mountains and the rainforest…nifty. The clothing was much what you would accept from a seasoned American designer, good pieces that will stand across seasons but nothing too forward thinking. In general, Kenneth Cole vibe is definitely more on the metropolitan side of the spectrum as opposed to your Jack Spades and Steven Alans but there were certainly a few things that caught my eye…
1. some crazy white heels that will probs make more appearances
2. the man boat shoes (which they are graciously sending as a gift, each blogger could pick a pair)
3. this electric number, good for ladies for spring
Other than the clothes, I got to meet up with some cool people that I’ve been stalking on twitter. There are loads more pictures on their facebook page, so check that out and be sure to follow them on twitter…I wouldn’t be surprised if they take very good care of their social media buddies, Mr. Cole made special note of how important they are several times in the evening.
