ZELDA, THE LEGEND OF ZELDA

I love nintendo, I really do. For many years it replaced friends in my life and to a degree it still does. Also, I look extremely graceful playing the Wii, it’s like a dance. Anyway…the holy grail of Nintendo titles for me has always been the Legend of Zelda. From NES, to gameboy, to SNES, to N64, to Wii and everything in between it’s fucking amazing. The story’s heroine is Zelda, princess of Hyrule. She keeps pretty busy you know, protecting the triforce and helping defeat that jerkoff Ganon. So clearly you’re not dealing with a girl content to wait for some prince to rescue her, she means business.

MORTICIA ADDAMS

If you’re on tumblr, I’m hoping you have the deep appreciation for The Addams Family that I do. After all, before there was Lydia Deetz, there was Wednesday Addams. I think I may have watched Addams Family Values over 100 times as a kid which may explain my cynical nature. I too longed to destroy Camp Chippewa. Anyway, this is Morticia, Matriarch of the Addams clan. Nobody pulls off a sexy black dress quite like she does.

LANVIN LOVES H&M

So, yesterday I had the opportunity to check out the Lanvin <3 H&M collection. Honestly, we’ve all seen these collabs before and you can never be too sure if it’s going to be a success. Oftentimes a designer’s DNA is restricted when working with any mass retailer and you don’t get a true representation. I don’t think anybody could say that about Lanvin’s work with H&M. It’s everything you’d expect from Alber Elbaz, pushing silhouettes and playful use of ruffles all while maintaining that “if you fuck with me, i will kill you with my eyes look,” which is my favorite. There’s really no denying it’s Lanvin and courtesy of the prices, there’s no denying it’s H&M. Smashingly awesome. I wouldn’t be surprised if you see a few of these pieces pop up on Textbook soon either.
The collab will be available in about 200 stores nation-wide on November 20 and no doubt they’ll be lines out the door.
