WHAT WOULD LISBETH SALANDER WEAR?

Happy new year to you guys. Over my long, actually, very long break, I went and saw The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It was certainly worth my $9.50 and if you’ve seen it you’ll understand what I mean when I say it affected me long after I left the theater. Sheesh. For those unfamiliar, the story is all about a journalist and a hacker/investigator who uncover a grizzly history of serial killings and seek revenge upon a .01 percenter. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend it and if you haven’t read it you probably should. While watching it, I thought Lisbeth would make a great character post and many people have requested her, so here you go. Of course, in reality (fiction reality?) Lisbeth probably wouldn’t care.

STORM, X-MEN

So, this may shock you…but I love X-MEN. Gasp. Shock. Awe. Wah. I really need to do more superheroes on here and do forgive me for being brief today, life has been quite busy lately. Here we have Storm also known as Halle Berry. She can control weather and is pretty badass. Cool, done.

storm from x-men

like all the x-men, storm has some super crazy mutant abilities. actually, of all the crazy mutant abilities, storm’s is my favorite. if you’re not wise to the comics, storm can control the weather. she’ll unleash a tornado on your ass right quick or fry you up right nice with some lightning. now, in the comics she had a lot of different get-ups but i most remember the one from the tv show, that white leather jumpsuit thing with the crazy cape. unfortunately, fall 2010 was very low on white leather jumpsuits so these will have to do. enjoy kids.

who doesn’t love the addams family? last night, itsherfactory posted an image of wednesday addams on the docks at camp chippewa from addams family values. as soon as i saw it i knew i had to take a stab at some of the addams clan. first up, morticia. you can’t forget her trademark black dress and sleek hair. plus with powerhouses like anjelica huston, bebe neuwirth and carolyn jones playing the gloomy matriarch, she’s an instant icon. of course, were she around today (and you know, real) that character would remain intact. in other words, she’d roll with lanvin, demeulemeester, donna karan and some gareth pugh.
1: in the dungeon: jumpsuit by lanvin, shoes by donna karan
2: a walk in the graveyard: coat by ann demeulemeester, pants by elie tahari, shoes by gareth pugh

medusa
oh medusa, she was one nasty customer. she was a gorgon-essentially the mean girls of greek mythology. if you messed with a gorgon, the outcome was usually pretty bad. in medusa’s case, if you looked her in the eyes you would turn to stone. ouch. eventually, perseus aided with a mirrored shield, winged sandals and an invisibility cloak (deathly hallows of greek mythology anyone?) defeated her and chopped her head off. too bad so sad.
