in an homage to tim burton’s announcement, i give you the prince from sleeping beauty. most of us know the story from the walt disney version, prince phillip vanquishes maleficent to save princess aurora. the original however, isn’t quite the same. prince phillip is actually prince john, maleficent is actually his ogress mother and aurora has children. most of the details are laid out here in the original sleeping beauty post. anyway, i hope you enjoy prince john from sleeping beauty.1: stumbling upon a castle in the forest: coat by agnes b, glove things by rag and bone, pants by michael bastian, vintage boots2: i’m living a double life: trench coat and scarf by gilded age, jeans by bottega veneta, boots by burberry prorsum3: vanquishing some evil: coat by burberry prorsum, pants by cp company, boots by ferragamo

now that the milan/paris mens shows have ended i must wait until fashion week rolls on elsewhere. i must say i was pleasantly surprised this season, lots of color, lots of desirability and plenty of wearable pieces. seems like the houses really took a step forward, perhaps they realized that in this economy product must be absolutely irresistible. and with the exception of dsquared2’s ridiculous devil angel costume most products were. so i popped together a few of my favorite things and styled them up right nice. here’s hoping they become realities.1: everyday getup: 2 tone v-neck by trussardi 1911, sweater by salvatore ferragamo, jacket by c.p. company, jeans by balmain, boots by louis vuitton2: a little dressed up: shirt by prada, sweater by agnes b, coat by ferragamo, pants by dries van noten, shoes by agnes b3: up north/in the country: hooded button front by c.p. company (with a hanes t-shirt underneath, duh), jeans by balmain (i love balmain and i love jeans, so what, who cares), coat by agnes b, boots by dolce & gabbana

salvatore ferragamo a/w 2010thoughts: let’s just say i im’ed my friend with these exact words, “it’s like ferragamo ripped out my soul, put it through a sewing machine and made clothes with it.” so i mean…i guess you could say i liked it. possibly the collection i’ve most identified with, ever. they showed a good range of deep colors and played with some winter whites. in relation to everybody else in milan i’m seeing more exaggerated collars, bomber jacket-esque qualities to outerwear and shearling. i’m so excited to get some of this, god willing i can be disciplined and save. my only quip is that the coat pictured in #2 up there is strikingly similar to a bottega from a/w 09 that i loved…what gives?
