continuing with franny and zooey, here’s zooey. zoeey is 25 and the second youngest of the glass children. he often battles with self identity and blames this on his older siblings who exposed him to philosophy at an early age. as a result of this exposure, zooey believes he’ll never be able to look at humanity quite like everybody else. aside from his resentment, he’s described as the most handsome of the glass children and seems to have a real negative/almost devil may care attitude about life. who could blame him?

vampire weekend’s horchata will always remind me of the beach. while i was on vacation i listened to it over and over. i put our vacation video to the tune and now whenever i hear it i go straight back to anguilla. anyway, with a teasing of summer in new york, i couldn’t resist coming up with some looks inspired by the song. not exactly a character post but at least there are some parallels. enjoy.

now that the milan/paris mens shows have ended i must wait until fashion week rolls on elsewhere. i must say i was pleasantly surprised this season, lots of color, lots of desirability and plenty of wearable pieces. seems like the houses really took a step forward, perhaps they realized that in this economy product must be absolutely irresistible. and with the exception of dsquared2’s ridiculous devil angel costume most products were. so i popped together a few of my favorite things and styled them up right nice. here’s hoping they become realities.

thoughts: i can’t explain how nice it is to see some color on the runways for fall. i can pretty much guarantee that this collection is going to be one of my favorites for the season. the styling was pretty boss-mixed plaids, open jackets and artfully draped scarves. the fit on all the clothes is great, jeans don’t have to be skinny to fit and khakis can have some room to them and still look proper. the worked in look also strikes a chord with me, particularly on this leather jacket and the plaid shirts. the whole thing is reminiscent of bottega veneta’s spring 2010 show but i don’t mind at all. not pictured were some all black looks that completely turned me off and i will say that i detest these boots. i’m sorry red wing and co., but i can’t get on board with white soles…apologies most sincere. i hope to god that the plaid hooded button front makes its way to nyc come fall.
who i see in this: paul bunyan, that tortured kid from a separate peace and maybe oliver twist
