Still not over this little Egyptian pantheon kick. Isis, the goddess of children, nature and magic and the title of my favorite Bob Dylan song was worshiped as the ideal wife and mother. According to myth, the tears she shed for her brother/husband Osiris’ murder were what caused the Nile to flood every year. In her spare time, she enjoyed protecting and watching over the dead. Her headdress, includes a small throne which associates her with the ruling Pharaohs of the time who were often depicted as her child. I’m a little hazy on all the Isis details, but that’s the gist.

Hey look! It’s everybody’s favorite galactic princess and it’s not Sailor Moon, Moon Kingdom be damned. Princess Leia was pretty badass. She’s the daughter of Darth Vader and Queen Amidala, princess of Alderaan and she helped the rebels fight the empire…good for her. Obviously, any princess who manages to battle enemies across the universe would have some killer style.

like all the x-men, storm has some super crazy mutant abilities. actually, of all the crazy mutant abilities, storm’s is my favorite. if you’re not wise to the comics, storm can control the weather. she’ll unleash a tornado on your ass right quick or fry you up right nice with some lightning. now, in the comics she had a lot of different get-ups but i most remember the one from the tv show, that white leather jumpsuit thing with the crazy cape. unfortunately, fall 2010 was very low on white leather jumpsuits so these will have to do. enjoy kids.
