It’s a rainy, kind of weird Saturday so I took to the interwebs and visited some of my old retail friends. As per usual, I floated over to Jack Spade who I’ve sorely neglected these past few weeks since I started the new job. Of course, now that I no longer enjoy an employee discount, it’s not so easy to grab a few things here and there. Nevertheless, look at this stuff…at long last Aaron Levine’s (formerly of Rogues Gallery) product has hit the store and if I weren’t moving in a week, I’d blow every last cent on it. Of course it should be noted that the leather goods and bags are the work of their talented bag designer, Britt Kleinman. She owns.

    DAISY BUCHANAN, THE GREAT GATSBY

    Daisy Buchanan
I’ve received tons of requests for a re-style of Daisy Buchanan. She was one of the very first posts I did back in 2009 so she was due. Having been unable to marry Gatsby prior to the story taking place, Daisy found herself a rich and suitable man in Tom Buchanan. However, once Gatsby begins hosting lavish parties and bathing in money, she rekindles their relationship. When her husband discovers the affair, he plays on Daisy’s greed and pride to end their love after an intense scene at The Plaza Hotel by exposing Gatsby as a bootlegger. Daisy rushes out of the city with Gatsby chasing after her and in their journey home, Daisy kills Myrtle (a minor character) with Gatsby’s car. Unable to identify the driver, Myrtle’s husband tracks Gatsby as the owner and murders him before committing suicide. Daisy, once in love with Gatsby, fails to attend his funeral and faces no penalty for her crime. Oh Daisy, I wanted to like you so much, but you’re disgusting.

    SANDY FROM GREASE

    Sandra Dee
Ever seen Grease? Of course you have, this is America. So here we have Sandra Dee, the Aussie transplant who lands at Rydell High for her senior year. She spent the summer at the beach with Danny Zukko and she misses him dearly. As musicals would have it, Danny goes to Rydell! Ahhh! Of course, he’s not the same Danny that Sandy met at the beach. He wears black leather jackets, hangs out with a suburban gang and smokes cigarettes. Oh heavens. Sandy realizes the only way to be with Danny is to completely change herself. So she throws on some tight pants, a tube top, heels and a leather jacket and all is well! Yay.

Sarcasm aside, I fucking love Grease.
