i spent yesterday evening wandering the halls, showrooms and the atelier of oscar de la renta (http://www.oscardelarenta.com). naturally, i took video the whole time as i got an up close look at the fall 2010 collection and chatted it up with their team. this is just a quick preview before the whole thing goes up on tuesday march 2.

big ups to their pr team for working it all out (http://www.twitter.com/oscarprgirl)

christian dior haute couture s/s 2010
thoughts: in 1947 when dior created “the new look” (#3 above) of a cinched waist and flowing skirt, history was made. it was one of the few watershed moments in fashion that has lasted a lifetime. today, galliano’s couture show paid homage to the house with an ethereal and undeniably dior collection. i feel the mark of an incredible designer, brand, whatever you want to call it is that from one season to another there is an evolution not a departure. the haute couture show is far evolved from the famous 1947 look and retains the incredible history, thought and femininity of the house. one of my favorites and one of the reasons i work and love fashion…pray be upstanding for christian dior and “the new look”
i encourage you to see the whole collection and check out the equestrian inspired looks…i just preferred these.

    trussardi 1911 a/w 2010
thoughts: whoa nelly, love this stuff. i have to say i’ve never really payed much attention to trussardi but this collection really peaked my interest. the understated fring shown in look 1 is pretty boss and would be a nice pick me up to some more drab clothes. not really a fan of the sneakers in 2 and 3 but i love the coat, shirt and tie. but the coat with the detailing on the wrists is freaking incredible. the outerwear coming out of milan is truly outrageously awesome and i’m seeing fur collars pretty much everywhere. at this point the trussardi coat is at the number 1 spot.
