WHAT WOULD PRINCESS ZELDA WEAR?

Princess Zelda is the HBIC of Hyrule. Together with Link, she must protect the kingdom from Ganon, the evil wizard/pig. This time, I decided to focus in on Zelda during The Ocarina of Time which remains to be one of my favorite video games to date. When we first meet Zelda she is young and becomes childhood friends with Link. Naturally, when we travel forward in time, she is older and wiser. She spends half of her adulthood disguised as Sheikh of the Sheikah tribe. When disguised, she helps guide Link in his quest to vanquish evil. Finally, she is revealed as the strong, wise and triforce wielding Princess Zelda. WOOO!!! NINTENDO!!!

WHAT WOULD DAENERYS TARGARYEN WEAR?

I don’t know where to begin with Daenerys Targaryen. I don’t even know where to begin with Game of Thrones. When we first meet DT, she’s young, weak and under the control of her punk-ass brother. After marrying Khal Drogo, king of the Dothraki, she becomes Khaleesi, queen of the Dothraki. This new role changes her and she transforms from a weak girl into a dragon-lady. Seriously, she gives birth to dragons. Also, her brother dies, hooray! Too bad though, her husband dies, boooooo. With the dragons at her side, she goes on to fight for her birthright to the throne of the seven kingdoms and all that jazz.

LUCREZIA BORGIA, ITALY

Fair warning to you all, now that The Borgias has started on Showtime I’ll probably be rediscovering my love for Italian Renaissance history. I’ve done a few before, Catherine Medici is around here somewhere but anyway, I digress. The Borgia family is notorious for their corruption and power plays in Rome during the late 1400’s. The patriarch of the family famously bought his Papal throne at the Vatican and played his family accordingly. Of course, for any young woman in a powerful family was used as a token of alliance by marriage. Enter Lucrezia Borgia who married into another powerful Catholic family and then another and then another, all surrounded by a little mystery. There are very few surviving portraits of the Borgia heiress but she was allegedly quite beautiful, cunning and at one time as corrupt as the rest of her family. Although, as she became older and raised her children her image did clean up a bit. But I dare to say she was far from angelic. By today’s standards she’d be you know, totally normal. Not sure why I put her in all black but damn she fine.

Also, and I’ve said this before, everybody in art school or fashion school uses this story as inspiration at some point. Anyways, y’all enjoy Alice.

Athena, Goddess of War
Editor’s Note: Hi! So from now on, my images will be hosted somewhere else outside of Tumblr. That means to actually see the post you’ll have to click through the dash. Annoying, I know but now the images are much higher resolution…totally worth the extra effort. I like you.

Let’s get back to they Olympians, shall we? This is Athena, she could kick your ass and spout the periodic table of elements while doing it. She is most commonly recognized as the goddess of war and wisdom but she was also the goddess of civilization, crafts, strength, strategy and the heroic endeavors. Most of us probably remember her from our high school lit classes and her travels with Odysseus. I love the fact that she has a library card but can wage a war like no other. Awesome.
