so my twitter has been going crazy with comments about this article in the independent: http://bit.ly/9eTmmK

bloggers seem to be flipping out and defending themselves by any means necessary. however, the article makes an interesting point. designers often shower gifts on bloggers who will give them what they want, great reviews and viral coverage. however, i can only say that a blog and it’s accompanying owner should be follow a point of view and not deviate. it is the blogger’s responsibility to maintain an unbiased critical attitude and a discerning eye. when a fashion designer invites an editor to their show, they open themselves up to negative or positive coverage and bloggers must behave in the same way. take dsquared2 for example, had i been invited to the show i would’ve panned it just as i did without going. it all goes back to the whole whiny blogger syndrome. i’ll say it again, i can’t stand for un-researched and un-supported blogging. know what you’re saying before you speak and remember to be taken seriously, you must write and act like it.
forgive the ranting please. i also must say that for all the fame hungry bloggers there are a great many who do put forth well supported opinions and critique.
