    In order to be considered a true couture house, you have to be sanctioned by the French government. There are strict laws, I’m not sure of all of them. However, it is regulations such as these that prevent any Tom, Dick or Harry from claiming they are couture designers. Without the legal permission of the French government, you cannot truly be considered a couture designer. I do not know the exact laws off-hand but I do know they mention number of employees, number of showings, clientele etc. Google it for more info. I am tired.
