spot check milan1: neil barret: not many surprises here…lots of black lots of leather and asymmetrical zippers galore. will say the dual textures on the pieces were entertaining (see leather above).2: john varvatos: i’ve come to the decision that john varvatos is great for a man who is starting to get into fashion. the more my taste and style develops, the less inspiring i find mr. varvatos. saddening for he was once one of my favorite designers. some of the silhouettes are awfully feminine as well.3: bottega veneta: i had true high hopes for bottega this season as one of my new favorites. on the heels of their impressive showing from spring 10 and fall 09 i have to say i feel they have digressed. not overly displeasing but in my humble opinion spring 10 and fall 09 were miles ahead. unfortunate, but i still love them.4: not pictured: gianfranco ferre: there’s certainly been a change in the wind at ferre. here’s hoping that the change will change back. gone is the sophisticated man of spring 2010 and arrived is a snow trekking crazy person. we’ll see where this goes.5: not pictured: roberto cavalli: i have no idea why, but i liked this. i would never wear any of the pieces but i enjoyed how he played with plaids and of course, the bomber jackets.
