sara crewe of a little princess had a tough life. when she was just a child in finishing school she learned of her father’s death. to add insult to injury, their great fortune was lost by a friend who invested unwisely. left penniless and all by herself she becomes a servant to her boarding school and the wretched miss. minchin. the story holds that she finds comfort for years by imagining herself as a princess (essentially her old self). as luck would have it for sara, her father’s friend who lost all their money regained the fortune and by happy coincidence moves in across the street from her school. the story unfolds and the two are united. sara has a new guardian who restores her previous life (minus her father) and disgraces the greedy miss minchin. if i’ve learned one thing working in the fashion industry it’s that those that have wild imaginations tend to have the best style and for those that think they’re princesses it goes double. so imagine if ms. crewe grew older, a princess in her own right with a limitless checkbook? jealous? yah you are.
