madame du barry certainly had an interesting past about her. being little more than a streetwalker in paris, she elevated herself to the highest ranks of the french court. although her means were not so civilized by our standards, she got where she wanted to go. granted, she had an agenda and probably calculated every move in her rise to power but you can’t deny she did it well. using your wiles to get what you want is a common game, was then, and is now. however, whether you’re in prerevolutionary france or the digital age, you best dress the part. du barry was famous for her style and were she alive today, she’d continue the tradition.
