it’s hard to say where we would be without the people who unified nations across the world. in the grand scheme of things, unification is relatively young and obviously still has its hiccups. would we be better off as warring city states or sliced up empires? probably not. that being said, i felt the need to pay homage to otto von bismarck, the unifi-er of the german empire. he was definitely a tough one, anybody who trademarks the blood and iron principle has got to be hard edged. bismarck believed that, hardship and war would bring results, not bureaucracy. maybe he wasn’t completely right, but he got the job done for the german empire.
